AJO-DO Study Investigates the Future Clinical Practice Plans of Orthodontic Residents in the United States

A recent study published in the American Journal of Orthodontics & Dental Facial Orthopedics surveyed orthodontic residents in the United States to investigate their future clinical practice plans. Among the study's findings, 84.06% of residents plan to use Invisalign and the study concluded that Invisalign is expected to grow in popularity in the United States because of projected future use by orthodontic residents. FDA Clears Expanded Labeling for the Invisalign System

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Jan 12, 2009- Align Technology, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALGN) today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cleared new labeling for the Invisalign system, thereby removing the permanent dentition limitation from the indications for use. In addition, certain conditions previously listed as contraindications will now be listed as precautions.
