Long-Term Stability of Invisalign Treatment of Open Bite Malocclusion
Presented by: Dr. Robert Boyd |

Open Bite and Crossbite Correction with Invisalign
Presented by: Dr. Bill Gierie |
This presentation will focus on open bite malocclusion, which is considered a functional occlusal problem for patients because of potential significant wear patterns that can occur between posterior teeth over time. Orthodontic literature shows there is a high long-term relapse tendency with conventional orthodontic treatment with fixed appliances for mild to moderate open bite malocclusions. In this presentation, Dr. Boyd will show results with Invisalign that show excellent long-term stability for open bite treatment.

Many practitioners shy away from open bite and crossbite treatment with aligners, having been taught these movements were difficult to achieve with aligners. Learn why Invisalign is the appliance of choice for open bite closure and the type of arch development necessary to correct even severe dental crossbites. Dr. Gierie will discuss how to take advantage of the vertical control that an occlusal coverage appliance like Invisalign offers when treating open bite patients, as well as discuss the best methods to achieve dental arch expansion and crossbite correction with aligners.

Comparing Invisalign & Fixed Appliances in Treatment Efficiency & Profitability
Presented by: Dr. Seth Kleinrock |
Invisalign Teen is one of the most exciting and valuable treatment options orthodontists have today. Dr. Boschken discusses Invisalign Teen from clinical and marketing perspectives, including treatment pearls gained from hundreds of teen cases and marketing dos and don’ts learned in their practices. Learn how to leverage the time, effort and expense Align is spending to make teens aware of Invisalign in your own practice.

This presentation will compare 500 consecutively treated teen Invisalign, adult Invisalign, and fixed appliance patients, analyzing average length of treatment, number of visits, and ultimately profit per visit. Additionally, the data will compare average number of refinements required, as well as projected number of aligners versus actual. Utilizing these results, two critical factors – patient cooperation and ease of tooth movement – will be examined to determine which one is more critical for each patient population. Finally, interpreting all of these results should enable the Invisalign doctor to predict outcomes more accurately, ultimately leading to happier patients and more cost-effective results.
